Great game Yankees! 9-2 and a shut out through 8? Now that’s good baseball! CC was phenominal today and he shut out the Indians while the Yankee offense went to work and scored 9 runs.  Granderson hit his 25th home run of the season, Jeter had 2 hits including a towering RBI double, Posada, Swisher, and Cervelli all had RBIs to add to the 9 runs.  Jeter is now just 4 hits away from 3K!

Happy 4th of July Yankee fans!  Unfortunately not so happy for the Yankees.  It was not a very good game.  Jeter’s first day back he goes 0-4, and the Yankees lose the game 6-3 to the Indians.  I think Joe Girardi left AJ Burnett in too long, which lead to 4 Indian runs in 7th inning.  The Yanks got a run back with a Curtis Granderson homer, but after that the Indian offense lit up Cory Wade and that was enough to win the game.

Hopefully the next game of the series will be better for the Bombers with Phil Hughes on the mound.

Oh no, what happened, Pinstripes?  You had this one.  It was a great pitcher’s duel, again as R.A. Dickey pitched a no hitter through 3 innings.  The Mets struck first but the Yankees quickly came back and tied and eventually went ahead 2-1. Dickey left the game early with tightness in his left glute.

The Mets didn’t score again until the bottom of the 9th.  Mo blew the save and the game went into extra innings.

There was a controversial call where Martin was called out with a sweep tag by Murphy- similar to the situation with Reyes and Rodriguez previously.  Again, perhaps a momentum changer, none-the-less, the Yankees fall to the Mets 3-2.

Notable today is that Cano, Jeter, Rodriguez, Granderson and Rivera all make the All Star Team! Go Yankees!!! Absent- CC and Tex- not sure why they were not chosen.  CC is a 11 game winner and Tex has 25 home runs, second in the American League.

Off to Ohio where the Yanks will take on Cleveland.

5 runs three days in a row are all the Yankees need to beat their opponent.  Today it was 5-2 after a 5-1 and a 5-0 win previously.  This was a closer game because of the great pitching match-up of Colon vs. Gee- veteran vs. rookie.  Gee kept it close until the Yankees unloaded on him in the 6th.  The first to unload was Curtis Granderson who launched one over the right field wall.  Then the rest of the offense, Teixeira, Rodriguez, Cano and Swisher combined for three more runs.

The biggest loss for the Mets and their momentum was the early exit by Jose Reyes who after a drama filled Friday, pulled his hamstring and left the game before the 3rd inning.  This injury is a terrible blow to the Mets who are racing furiously to catch the Phillies.  Reyes has been the hottest hitter in baseball during the last several weeks.  This is a terrible blow for the Mets.

The Yankees play the Mets tomorrow at Citifield to close out the series before taking on Cleveland.  Let’s push for another sweep fellas!

Into Citifield we head to start off the July 4th weekend right- a win against the boys from Flushing.  The Yankees beat the Mets 5-1 behind Ivan Nova who threw a great game.  The controversy of the game stemmed from a tag on Jose Reyes by Alex Rodriguez.  A-Rod just brushed the Mets short stop barely and despite Reyes’ temper tantrum on the field, the Yankees won the call and the momentum of the game.  They handily beat the Mets with stellar offense from Mark Teixeira and Eduardo Nunez who had four hits in the game.  Robby Cano, Nick Swisher and Curtis Granderson were also hot at the plate adding to the Yankee lead.  Rodriguez late game double to the fence powered the final blow to the Mets.  That shot would have been a home run at Yankee Stadium.

Game two presents a veteran and a rookie match-up.  Bartolo Colon comes back to the Yankee rotation after an injury and Mets Rookie Ace Dillon Gee who has 8 wins for the season.

Brew town just no problem for our Yankees and CC Sabathia who combined with offense and 13 strike outs beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-0 to sweep the series.  Should the Yankees move to the National League is the thought bubble racing through Yankees minds.  We have had a heck of an interleague play with a winning record for the season (9-4).

CC was just untouchable against the Brewers.  He had all of his pitches,  and a tremendous Yankee offense.  Mark Teixeira smashed his 300th career homer and his 25th homerun of the season to tie for the home run lead in the American League.  Robby Cano got the Yankees up early with a double in the first inning and RBIs by Francisco Cervelli.  Onto Citifield and the New York Mets before the Yankees head to Cleveland for a three game set there.

The Yankees are going on a tear! They have now won 3 straight, and with great offense in each.  They Yankees won this game 5-2 and AJ Burnett earned his 8th win of the season.  He was backed up by great offense, including a 3 run blast by Russell Martin, a homer by Posada, and an RBI single from Swisher.  Mariano Rivera got the save, and in the next game of this series, the bombers will be looking to sweep the Brewers.

Aww YEA!! Great job Yankees! The Yankee offense dominated Zach Greinke today, scoring 12 runs.  Teixeira added to his home run total today hiting number 24 on the season, and Swisher hit his 8th of the season.  It really was an offnesive explosion in this game.  Freddy Garcia pitched well, only giving up 2 runs.  RBIs from Granderson, Cano, Posada, and Martin also added to the Yankee runs.  It was a great game for the Bombers today.

Great game Yankees!! They Bombers have been hitting really well and in clutch situations too.  The home runs helped tremendously today. Swisher, Texiera, and Posada all had homers for a total of 4 RBIs.  The Yanks were behind in the beginning, and were quiet until the 5th inning, when they scored 3 runs, and after that, they scored a run in each of the remaining innings in the game.  This combination of runs and solid pitching was enough to put away the Rockies and win the series.

CC dominated against the Rockies in this game, and the offense was there to back him up with 8 runs.  CC got the win in this game putting his record on the season at 10-4 and an ERA of 3.45.  CC is now the first player in the MLB this season to have 10 wins, and he wouldn’t have got it without the help of Alex Rodriguez and his 3 RBIs.  CC was also backed up with RBIs from Granderson, Swisher, and Posada. The bullpen got a chance to rest since CC went 8 strong innings.  Great game for the Yankees today!
